I can't play handler during cold/rainy weather without gloves. My hands just freeze up.

What are good all weather gloves for ultimate that lasts a really long time?

Almost everybody on my team wear cutters. But I find that the nike speedtack V provides more flexibility, although it's not as good for catching. I just got it from my local store, but I'm not sure how long it would last.

What do you use?

I dont wear gloves and never will but if I absolutely had to I think I might try golf gloves. Really good grip while being thinner and providing more feel than any kind of wide receiver glove. I have played golf since I was 7 and no mater how wet or cold it was they always worked.

yea a lot of people think it's unmanly to wear gloves. I don't understand how some can withstand sub 40 weather without gloves and still be able to handle well. I mean when it gets cold, the frisbee feels extra hard. I agree that cutter receiver gloves make you loose touch. I use gloves with leather palms though, and it feels so much better than cutters. It keeps me warm as well. The only con of my gloves is that when they get wet, they're very slippery - unlike cutters. But they still keep me warm.

Its whatever works for you in the end, I have played in temps in the 20's with snow and still didn't feel like gloves were needed.

a few of my friends wear batting gloves for handling.
they say it gives them just enough warmth without compromising the feeling of the disc on your hands.

since they are always tight and not as thick as some of the football gloves they said it lets them feel the disc better and said it only sticks on the hand just a few out of the many times they play.
even when it does stick they say its not enough to make a bad throw, just not usually as spot on or hard as usualy at minimal times.

hope this helps, i dont personally wear gloves but my extremities dont usually get too cold Smiley

I've used golf gloves in the past on the very rare occassions I feel like I needed gloves. They actually worked extremely well, especially in slick conditions like slow, or a cold, rainy day.

I have some Nike wide receiver gloves.. not sure of the model name as they don't seem to make them anymore.

Pretty sticky, but still I don't wear them ever on my throwing hand as I don't get as good a grip.  In fall league I often wear the left handed glove for help in catching as I find they're awesome for catching.

Although I do not yet own a pair of gloves, im gonna try some nike batting gloves, as it seems batting gloves would provide warmth while material is relatively thin, so you would still have feeling and maneuverability of your fingers. i'll post back once i get them to review

I have a pair of UA warm weather WR gloves.  I really dislike the tacky rubberized surface on the palm, so I've stopped wearing them in game situations.  When dry, the surface makes me feel like I'm cheating; it has so much extra  grip, I find It improves my huck distance 30-40%.  To me, that level of improvement from equipment is cheating, even if it's legal under the rules.  Even if I was less scrupulous, I'd rather not make my game dependant on gloves.  The other issue is that they are slippery as hell when it rains, in college I played in upstate NY where cold = dry.  Now when playing in lower NYS, cold = rainy, and the gloves would be a detriment in that situation.

So basically I just put them on when I want to mess around now.

I hardly ever use gloves, but when I do I use NRS fingerless canoe gloves. You might think that them being fingerless defeats the purpose of wearing gloves, but if you can keep the rest of your hand really warm the fingers will share in that warmth, to a degree. Better than anything else I've tried.

I'm a handler, and I found that using most gloves made it almost impossible to maintain control of the disc. I finally found an amazing pair of gloves from Under Armour. I bought them three years ago, and they're absolutely incredible. The material doesn't change your grip whatsoever, so you play as though you weren't wearing gloves, but your hands stay warm.

I only use gloves in the winter, not so much for extra grip, but against the cold. The extra grip comes in handy when it is rainy, but I seem to lose just a little bit of pinpoint control on the throws. Besides, I don't use them in summer so I rather practise without gloves, even when the extra grip could come in handy.

So, all those points taken into account, I use the excellent Neoprene gloves that are sold by Lookfly (http://www.lookfly.com/uk/lookfly-ultimate-gloves.html). They lack the top digit of the index and middle fingers, which makes for more control than you would get with full gloves. The Neoprene keeps your hands warm, as long as you keep the blood flowing. Works wonders for me, and I get cold hands quickly normally Smiley

Which pair of UA gloves do you have? ... they make a lot of different kinds.

Personally, I've found that summer biking gloves work well for me. Tight to the fingers, and with the little bits of grippy rubber on the fingers that some have, they feel similar to skin grip and touch.

I was going to suggest the same thing.  I used full-finger mountain biking gloves to a large amount of success this winter, and although they're not the warmest gloves out there, they keep your hands warm enough when you're running around in the cold weather.  The gloves that I use have some extra grip on the middle and forefinger but not on any others, which makes throwing easy and catching fine.

I played on the 1st at a big pick up game outside and it was 25 degrees and a slight wind without but i did keep my hands in my pants pockets between points and walking to the line. But when it's really cold and windy I like to wear running gloves when I play D and take them off on O which works really well. I will definitely look into batting gloves now though.
