One Trick Pony has a great shot at winning the series.

Ive seen them roll over CLX and I know they can take AMP if they show up.

If the OTP team shows up and plays like they can, they have a good shot to take it all.

"I'm down with OTP, One Trick Pony!"

OTP does look strong.  I've seen them play several games, both @ Sectionals & Regionals.  But I don't think they have what it takes to beat CLX.  Have they ever beaten them?

CLX rolled through Central Regionals.  If OTP is gonna have a chance to win it all, they will need to step it up quite a bit.

Meanwhile, who has an update on the Flycoons, Barrio, D'oh! and Slow White?  Are they all in fine form and 100% healthy?

OTP beat CLX 15-8 at The Rock in the finals.
It was intense and OTP took over after half pretty nicely.

Not an official game, but OTP beat them in the showcase game at Heavyweights as well.

I know Slow was missing one of the patisteas twins for some of their tourneys.  I dunno, they haven't had a really strong season, but they've been doing progressively better at every tournament.  But I've got friends on the team, so I am totally biased Wink.

CLX is 4-1 against OTP in official games.

Having played CLX and OTP when both teams had full rosters, CLX is much stronger. We lost to OTP by 3 or 4, while CLX beat us easily. The men on both teams are pretty equal, but the women on CLX are significantly better.

Agreed. I'd love for OTP to win as I have friends on the team, but I think CLX is too strong.

I've seen about 1/2 these teams play this year, and have played against the cores of many of the other teams in years past. Flycoons are a clear front runner. They have most of their troops back for another run (a key player or 2  migrated to Psycho). CLX & AMP have all star rosters. Axis can beat anyone of those teams. I expect the NW to have a down year this year, which would be a good year for any other region....probably 2 Quarterfinalists, but only Flycoons moving beyond that. The top 4 seeds NEVER all make it to semis, so I expect 1 of those top 4 to get knocked off by Slow. SO, it will be Slow, Flycoons, & then take your pick of 2 from Axis/Amp/CLX.

Although Flycoons are very strong, repeating twice ain't easy. The odds are on a new champ from the likes of Slow/Amp/Axis/CLX.

The 3 SW teams will finish in the bottom 8, as will QC, BP, Tau. The only first timers who have a shot @ making quarters will be Jukebox or OTP, with OTP having the best shot. Jukebox looks likely to get the pool of death with AMP & Slow, so they'll need to pull their upset off early because fighting your way out of the non-power pools to quarters ain't easy.

I picked Axis to win it all, I think they are capable of beating any team in the tournament in an given game. If they come out and play every game to their highest level they can win it all.

The Flycoons looked great at regionals. Overwhelming 2nd halves to their games. I think Axis and AMP are your other main contenders, in that order--though I haven't seen either play. MTF hasn't played Axis with Chase S-B, so that's an intriguing mystery match-up. I'm curious to see who on MTF gets that mark. James Kennedy? Tim Murray? The youth and size of Nevin and Ken?

Who else have I seen?

Well, there's D'oh. I watched them play MTF twice at regionals, and neither game was close after half. A couple of 5-point losses. Beat Psycho by a decent margin, but I missed that game. Good team, but may find it hard to hold seed.

Psychoplastique has height and one or two very fast ladies. Plus some nationals experience from Fast Johnny and Jen Nichols. Cyn Holliman can really move--got behind Tim Murray a couple of times in zone and made MTF pay. Even so, that game ended with MTF up 15-9. I could see Psychoplastique playing a little above seed--while I don't see them beating MTF in pool play they should certainly beat Brown Chicken Brown Cow and I predict that they'll beat Barrio.

Ah yes, Barrio. Played against them once, back in June, in Flagstaff. I wasn't especially impressed then, but that was back in June, after all. (Here I might be stroking my ego a bit, thinking "they're not all that". Helps that I beat a couple of their guys in the longest pull competition--3rd place, baby! Course, they still beat the snot out of my team. But it was a ragged game.)
