Here's another disc sport (in response to kanjam). There is actually a rec league in conjunction to the Ultimate rec leagues in Atlanta. The game is fun, takes a little time to get used to the differences between Ulti and Goalty, (different types of cutting, different throws), and the subbing on the fly is different.

The game is fast paced (non-stop action) and will definitely give you a work out. It is also good for pick up since it only takes 8 people to play (so if you are short a few for ultimate, just hope someone has a goalty kit in their car).

I love Goalty!  One of the best sports ever.

Anyone have any links on how to build your own kit?  I don't really want to shell out $200 for the official kit.

I did find the following link but would really like to see some more photos of what to get:

Thx!

When I coached HS ulti, my kids built their own indoor/outdoor goalti kit.  Taken down, it fit in a large narrow duffel bag.  It was a great skills-building tool (way more spread out handling), and it let us do a lot more indoor playing during the winter months.

In 2004, I played in a goalti tournament in Yeosu, South Korea. It was a blast.  Great game that works 3-on-3 as well.
