Hey there, i'm new to this forum and i'm trying to find more kinds of frisbee throws out there. Here are the ones i know: the reverse hand grip flick, the backhand, the forward flick, the tomahawk, and the hammer.

If you can share your throws that'd be great, i'll try as hard as possible to understand it in writing. Cheesy

Hey MrSpy,

Welcome to UltiTalk.Com.  Smiley

Check out this thread on people's favorite throws.  There are many listed.

http://www.ultitalk.com/index.php/topic,1126.0.html

Also, what is the tomahawk?  I've never heard of that throw.

And does the reverse hand grip flick = the scoober?

Cheers!

Hey there, the reverse hand grip(i'm not familiar with the throw you mentioned, lol i guess i'm kind a noob compared to you pro's)to me is where you have your thumb on the inside of frisbee and the rest of the fingers on the top. then i twist it around so it's an "outward" flick. I'll deminstrate in the photos. I guess i made the tomahawk up cuz no one else seems to call it tomahawk either. Basically it's where you through it so that it's going straight at the person, i'll try to demonstrate in a picture. (it's really hard to explain frisbee moves, lol)

The first and second pic looks like the grip for a flick, hammer, or scoober depending on how you throw it.

The third and fourth pics look like what I would call a thumber, basically similar motion to a flick but with the thumb on the inside of the disc. Its totally useless for ultimate or anything more then screwing around with a couple buddies.

Actually i like that last 3 and 4 picture throw. I'll have to upload a video of me demonstrating it, way to hard to explain in writing

You can like it and thats fine, but its usefullness as a throw in quality games of ultimate is a different question and the answer to the question is that its useless. If it was a good throw for ultimate then you would see it regularly but you don't.

It's no tan advanced throw but you can just work on a high release. It's pretty useful when you have a cup on you. It's just a back hand thrown above your head. It's an easy throw without a lot of wrist to it. The purpose is just to get it over or past your D-fender.

Does anyone want to make the distinction between a thumber and a chicken with here? I think the chicken wing is when you place your finger on the op of the disc with your thumb on the inside while the thumber you have your fingers more on the rim.
