Hey all,

I'm not sure how behind I am but I just read that BB took Sockeye to universal point at ECC. This put a big smile on my face as I remember a few arrogant americans disrespecting Buzz and many of the other teams back at world clubs, believing they wouldn't even be in the mix if all the American teams would have been able to make it down (these posts were not on ultitalk but I couldn't remember where). This went so far as some believing that an asterisk should appear next to be Buzz Bullets' name when the victory was recorded, denoting the absence of certain teams. This, to me, was the pinnacle of arrogance. I was curious to see if any of those critics were still around to further defend their comments, and try to explain why a team that they claim didn't deserve the title were able to smack up Jam, as well as many other teams, sky Nord twice in the final, and come within a whisker of taking the title?

I agree moroney.  I heard a lot of those comments being thrown around while attending the WUCC in Perth last year.  What amazes me is that these critics can't see that Japan is definitely onto something here.  Whether it's the gloves many of them use or the blistering and incessant movement of the disc, the fact is that they absolutely caned the competition in Perth (w/ Japan taking the Open and Master's division and sweeping the Women's division).  I was in complete amazement watching them play.  An awesome spectacular to be sure.

BB's results at ECC should prove to those critics that they are definitely a team to be reckoned with.  In fact, I personally think that their style of play will significantly change the foundations of the "standard" play we've become used to here in North America.  Don't be surprised when you see high school and university teams adopting this new strategy, however you would like to define it.

You and those bloody gloves, Seppo  Tongue

I don't think any marker managed to get past stall 3 on any BB player in Perth. They just moved the disc that quickly that your only chance of getting a D was to attempt to read the play two or three throws in advance.
