Well I guess this is part of our recruitment strategy. We are getting ourselves some frisbees this year.
Should be good to have a change.

Speaking of discs...
I'm thinking of buying a bunch of GSWAP design discs to sell to new members at B-Town. Would any other uni be keen on also buying 50 or so? We could probably get them for around $10-$11 each at the moment.

We just ordered 150 new discs, with a hot new design - keep your eyes peeled this year
but what is a GSWAP disc?

I didn't see anybody mention the university of the sunshine coast anywhere in here. Is anybody aware of a team there? Is it possible to play for another school if your school doesn't have a team?

Is that the Sunshine Coast campus of Griffith University or another uni? You can only play for the uni you are enrolled with, you might find club ultimate has more going for it here than college ulti

sunshine coast uni is super into the Surfing scene. as for the ultimate scene there isnt much north of the brisbane river. You may have to start up a beach tournie to lure us all to the sunshine coast. As for playing for other club QUT would take you in on monday nights in Bris vegas if you were willing to make the trip down. Does any smell the possibility of another team at Uni games this year.

There was a plan for all the Victorian unis to get together to run an event to introduce interested people to the competition side of the sport. This was going to be run at the culmination of o-week except the guy in charge has gone on holidays and ironically won't be back until after o-week.
Awesome

Does anyone have some large colour posters advertising Ultimate Frisbee? SUUFA is looking for some to put up at our O-week stall. If you do please email them to me! Cheers

Simmo, Jason Carr is now the UWA President. Tim Delane is our WAFDA Unis coordinator. I think the Murdoch President may have changed as well. Also to let you know Curtin has contacted WAFDA and is keen to re establish a Curtin Uni Club. We have a few yankees at Curtin in Sublime that I'm sure will push this. Cheers I'm still trying to chase up contacts for each uni. Here's who I'm yet to receive confirmation from (in brackets is the name I have down at the moment)
UWA (Tim Delane) Monash (Mikey Hui) QUT (Jangles) Murdoch (Andrew Hutcheon) USydney (Brett Latham) CSU (Nathan Dukes) Adelaide (Stephen Harfield) Griffith (Stefan Rappazzo) Flinders (Alec Deslandes) Latrobe (Tim Wise) UWS (Tim Gee) Deakin (Jason Gibson) Vic Uni (Timill)
If you know who is supposed to be the key figure at any of those unis, can you ask them to drop us an email? Cheers

Thanks Paul. I've been in touch with Tim already. Hutchy told me he's still the contact for Murdoch for now till he finds someone to take over. Great news about the revival of the Curtin team!
Brett - I was about to get on to this poster thing...
If anyone out there has some good quality digital pics (or knows somewhere does) from AUG 2007, can you please send me a link to them (if they're online) or send me a few good actions pics to satalbot (at) gmail (dot) com.

Ok, so here's what Ballarat has going for O-Week....
- Our membership package costs $10. You get a stubby holder, keyring, $10 drink voucher for our first party (Week 1), some other promotional item (Tooheys Extra Dry thongs, I think), a bunch other vouchers (Blockbuster, Dominos, etc) and as a special O-Week offer, new members can buy a competition standard disc (valued at $20) for only $5 extra! Plus new members can get bottomless punch! And all people signing up today go into the drawer to win a $50 voucher for...um...maybe JB HiFi or The Good Guys. The stubby holders are costing $2.70 each, the keyrings about $1, the discs $10. Everything else is through sponsorship.
- We're running a challenge during "The Amazing Race" (official event). It's a Live Shooting Range, where participants have to hit the poorly costumed duck/deer/rabbit with a frisbee to win points for their team.
- We've also been commissioned to lead one of the eight groups in the 91st Annual Pub Crawl.
Have a word to the people that run your O-Week activities and see if you can volunteer some folk to help out in exchange for getting to promote your club.

trouble with QUT is we seem to be too sofisticated for this sport. i have put the feelers out to everyone in the team last year and years before and any students i know and 80% of us have permanent part time jobs that fill in monday to friday 9-5. Myself included. The rest are just too nerdy and have too many uni hours to help out. ergo we have had to ditch our stall this year. however we have recruited almost a whole team already.
