A little good kanye and 50 goes a long way. Especially if you are playing deep-deep in zone D, playing the other team's best guy in a man, or are primarily a deep cutter, for some reason their whole "better than the world"-esque lyrics and mentality really get you in the right mood for making that tough one-on-one, whether it be skying, or a layout D.
Final Countdown, as the song by itself, I like playing a couple of times over on the ride to a game with the team, it really works getting everyone pumped.

Razor Sex- Strung Out... I listened to it constantly before a league game I wanted to fire up for and I still get tingles listening to it now... And the Enter Shikari album- Take to the Skies got a LOT of play before my last finals and it gives me tingles aswell...
Oh and my first uni games tournament had Carmina burana: O Fortuna by Carl Orf playing constantly... nothing gives a tournament a important feel like "end of the world classical music" Ride of the Valkyries is great too

Ok, here's my list: 1. The Haka by All Blacks! - I'm not a rugby fan but that is just awesome! 2. MOP - Ante Up 3. Prefuse 73 & Mos Def - Wylin Out 4. Ludacris - Get back (feat. Sum 41) 5. Calming myself down, concentrating and thinking only about the game! - I just came back from an indoor tournament where I brutally found out that negative emotions don't work for me. Now I know I should listen to Master Yoda more often...

I go with a combo of psyche up music and chill music. On the way to the venue I'll have some psyche up tunes cranked (although my psyche up music is generally funk jazz, hey it works for me so shut up) but then when I'm actually at the ground and having a throw it's the chill mix: Jack Johnson, Powderfinger, some Chilis etc. This takes care of my competitive desire to get psyched up but also my rational knowledge that I need to be calm and controlled to perform at my best.

When I need to play harder I need to fire up... "Calm" decreases my intensity I think, I never get to wild even when angry/fired up... If anything I get a little bit more focused and run a lot harder. Bathurst Stampede Final and NSL Div 2 final this year I was pretty fired up (Bathurst by circumstance, NSL by about 8 hours of hardcore punk and the physical need to win 3 finals running) but when I try and play "calm" I have a tendancy to get a bit "it's just a game". But everyone is different I think. On the Haka note look at the cheers pulled out by the various club teams for an alternative... Barefoot's "SHOOES! F*UCK them!" chant serves its purpose (and they are a fairly "emmotional" team) but Fakulbee was using Ali B's masterful "Fakul-What?!?" chant to a similar purpose and it had a significant proportion of the team ready to kill for the jersey... Especially given how calm and cool fakulti has been traditionally... You still get the shivers thinking about it now...
So I think a combo of music and a GOOD cheer is best (Has to be a GOOD cheer because up until "fakul-what" I'd never been involved with a good one and it wasn't until the first one of those I heard that I got the point of them).

Yeah a good pre-match cheer is always helpful. Sydney Uni's "What is best in life?" always gets me in the zone (pun intended).

I love that we got quoted in that Canadian Ulti magazine ( http://publishing.yudu.com/Av4hw/UCMfall2008/resources/index.htm)... Little do they realise how chumpy all the (myself more than most) Aussie players crapping on in this thread are... Oh well
