OK so...I was playing ultimate and...I sprained my right ankle pretty badly! (sucks) Sad

Luckily we had a 2 week spring break coming up so I had some good time to "rehab" it.

Now our season (first game of it) is starting  in about a week.

And for the Love of ultimate i really want to play!!!

However I really don't want to end up back on crutches! (also sucks)

So i turn to this forum to see if any of you can give me advice on a nice "hard core" Wink ankle brace that can allow me to still pull off my somewhat "legendary" sprints...yet give me a lot of support so I can still cut with out feeling "wobbly" and re injuring my now weakened ankle.

Advice from experience is always nice....because looking at manufacturer rants via Google...does not help me that much.

So enough personal ranting...how about some suggestions.

Thanks so much, in advance!

Advice: Go to a physical therapist.
Apparently this is a reoccurring injury and you have not had proper rehab in order to strengthen your ankles. Doing the right/difficult thing now (setting out for a week or two) will provide better benefit than the quick/satisfying thing (playing now).

This can also become an opportunity that provides you with some much needed experience in stat tracking for the team or work on your sideline game (noticing match-ups, keeping score, being another set of eyes for the zone d). This might also be a good opportunity to work on your throws or mentor some new players.

It sucks but you'll be better for your team by being 100% near the end of the season than 75% all year due to your ankle.

When in doubt, the hammer is always a good choice.
