Hey all,

This topic has nothing to do with Ultimate, but I felt it deserved some attention (especially on an international forum such as UT).

Many of you probably have heard the phrase "Net Neutrality" once or twice, but this is a subject that really deserves some attention.  If you don't now what it is, you can read all about it on Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_neutrality

Basically, Net Neutrality is "a principle that is applied to residential broadband networks, and potentially to all networks. A neutral broadband network is one that is free of restrictions on the kinds of equipment that may be attached, on the modes of communication allowed, which does not restrict content, sites or platforms, and where communication is not unreasonably degraded by other communication streams."

It's important that the Internet as we know it stays neutral, but the powers that be do not want this.  Why?  Because they have no control over it, and that means less power for them and more for the general population (part of the eternal tug-of-war between us and "The Man" - aka Big Brother).

The following is a link to a very informative video on the end of Net Neutrality by 2012.  If that happens, you'll no longer be able to access the billions of small, privately owned/run websites (i.e UltiTalk.com, AFDA.com, BlockStack.tv, etc, etc, etc) unless you pay big bucks to do so.  Instead, you'll have access to only the websites "They" want you to access, and you'll still be paying for it.  Watch this video and read the surrounding text for more information:

http://ipower.ning.com/netneutrality2

I invite you all to share any information and/or comments about this subject.  And please, spread the word.  Here is another website you can visit and share with your friends on the subject:

Well the world ends on December 21, 2012 so I suppose it won't be much of an issue.
