A nice balance between soccer and football cleats that I've found is lacrosse cleats.
Hmmm, the Warrior Speed Burn low's look very interesting! Look's like they have a comfortable toe-box and a nice cleat pattern.
I am a fan of round cleats as opposed to flats.

I've decided upon the Nike Speed Ds, but I am also buying a new bike shortly, that'll be like £600 + pedals etc and I still owe uni £1200, so it'll be a month or so before I get the cash together.
Those warriors do look pretty cool though.

I took advantage of the eastbay sale and bought the Nike Vapor 4.2s, and with a coupon code got free shipping.
They are worth the extra money in my opinion. Those babies feel and play like a dream. Super light, and snug fit(run a half size small)
The shoes don't have a tongue, which seems a little weird until you try them on. Then it makes sence. I'm hooked.

I'm that friend and yes I like them. Now that they are broken in they are serving me quite well. We'll see how they hold up through a few tournaments. I purchased them for something around 50 bucks from a lacrosse website.

Does anyone own a pair of Nike Speed D's? I was thinking about buying a pair, but I haven't been able to find one in a store. Just wondering if anyone could comment on how they fit. The last time I bought a pair of cleats sight-unseen, they ended up being too small, tight and painful.
Also, are the insoles removable?
thanks!

Fourgon, Did you mean the Nike Speed TD?
If so, I have a pair right now. Beware though, this is
not
the cleat for you if you have flat arches like me. I bought these cleats a few months ago. They hurt my arches. I was told by teammates to "break" them in. I did and it got a bit better. However, I think I am now suffering from some sort of stress injury on the bottom of my right foot because of these cleats. I'm not saying it's a bad cleat, it's just not right for me. My previous pair of cleats were Nike Mercurial Vapors and they were GREAT! I just wish they weren't $200 USD. Ouch!
As for removable insoles, the Nike Speed TDs do have them.
Good luck!

as far as I can tell the difference between the TD and D shoes lie in the sole of the shoe different "studs" or cleats.

I had a pair of american football cleats, and they were great, however they gave me blisters on my heels, i found the traction in them sweet. However i've recently been turned onto Puma V1.08 Cleats, they're soccer shoes but the front studs are fairly far forward. They're super light (weight about 8 ounces) and after a few sessions in them they moulded to my feet perfectly and i havent had a problem with them since. They're available throught eastbay for about $140 but theres a site in the UK called
www.lovellrugby.co.uk
that also sells them and i think theyre about £50+ shipping which is about £10.

OH! Apologies Fourgon. I didn't know Nike made a Speed D shoe. I simply thought you had inadvertently left out the "T" in your post. Oops
I see
this
is the Nike Speed D:
A low cut football cleat. I would think this cleat would only be good in the deepest of turfs/grass or muddy conditions. Playing on tough to very tough ground would prove painful and traction-less (I would think) in these cleats.

Hi Seppo,
Thanks for your responses! Yeah, i was talking about the Nike Speed D. But thanks for your input on the TD's too.
I'd love to get the Nike Mercurial Vapors like you mentioned, but also like you, it's a bit out of my price range!
