so what I am getting from these posts is that soccer cleats are ok and that light football cleats are better? Because my ankles are ok, its just that in the running shoes I have I can't cut at all, I like fall down or slip every time in the grass. What would you guys suggest?

I'd suggest anything with cleats to be honest! I've played a variety of sports on grass before Ultimate (mainly rugby and soccer) and cleated shoes help in all sports on grass. Nike Speed TD is only $60 on eastbay.com, as is the "Speed D Low" both of which I have been told are amazing. As I said earlier, I'm waiting for my TDs to arrive, I think they are coming by a pidgeon via Australia....

So today was a very good day. I bought a pair of Speed TD's on ebay ($25.50 shipped) and they arrived promptly a few days later. Then today out of nowhere another pair arrived. Apparently the guy I bought it from screwed up and now I got a free pair of sick cleats!

Oooh, what size? Any chance you'd part with them at a nice price?

Might as well throw in my 2 cents.
I used to play ice hockey, and as a product of that, I have extremely strong ankles.  I also used to play soccer and when I first bought cleats to play higher level ultimate in, I went soccer.  I have friends that played football that went the football route.  It really comes down to what YOU want in a cleat and what your ankles are capable of taking.  I know guys who can cut like champs in soccer cleats, I also know guys who handle in football studs.  Whatever you feel comfortable in, is what you should play in.  I need the lightest cleats available because I'm a smidge better than average in terms of speed, so I need all the help I can get.  I just recently bought some cleats for a good price that are very comfy and I feel are going to last a good while.  Here's a linky http://www.motorcitysoccer.com/browse.cfm/4,1370.html

I've never had 'em, but I'd say stay away. Those things look heavy and horrible to cut in. Look for reciever cleats or soccer cleats.

I just got my Nike Speeds, they are amazing, I used them outdoors yesterday and they were incredibly comfortable. Due to the great indoor surface we have at uni I will try them indoors tonight to see what they are like there too.

This is only mildly related, but I suppose it is about cleats. I, for whatever reason, enjoy having very unorthodox, yet practical shoes in my various sports. I'll be buying a pair of Nike Speeds soon, and want to make them something different and eyecatching. Would it at all hurt the shoe to use spray paints on it do you think?

Who did you do this through? I just looked on the nike id website and they didn't offer the Speed TD in ID.
