According to outdated motor development theories, by watching someone walk a child will learn to walk without any teachings. Maybe we can apply this concept to you for jumping... Just watch this 20 times a day http://www.youtube.com/v/Kst2yrNJolY

But in all seriousness look up air alert, I've great things from some and some say that it gave them shin splints or injured them when it got too intense at a certain point in the training. So I would look into that and just dilute it when you get a few weeks in and it has you do too much.

I did air alert for about 8 weeks and found that it caused a lot of pain in the arches of my feet. I have also heard that one of the exercises is extremely bad for you knees. I also didn't see much of an improvement in my jumping.

If that's a fact for you then you might need to look to train different muscle groups or train the muscle groups in a different intensity to get more out of it. As for jumping exercises; if you're jumping it's 'bad' for your knees, nothing is going to change that. So anything that involved going up and landing is going to have an impact on your knees. Whether your body can hold it depends on how much you have worked to increase your fitness with respect to jumping. Air Alert doesn't do that for you though (which is a good note to add indeed, thanks).

As for me; I improved a lot by doing Air Alert 3.

Yes jumping in general is bad for your knees in general. The exercise where you sort of sit in the air and then jump is extremely bad for your knees far more so than regular jumping, it puts so many different stresses on your knees at the same time. If anyone decides to start air alert I would take that out of the routine.

Ben-I, could you send me a copy of it as well?

Guys, I have also had some success with this program: the Superman Vertical Program. No gimmicks here, as it is free, no download, and in my case, successful in increasing my speed and conditioning (I have nothing quantitative for a change in my vertical). My friend--basketball player--and I did this together; he did his set when I rested and vise versa. That not only helped by not allowing us to rest to long, but also that we could egg each other on to "get it done." Here's the link: http://www.tmuscle.com/free_online_article/sports_body_training_performance/leap_tall_buildings_and_build_traps_of_steel.

Also, this site (tmuscle.com) is a GOLDMINE for strength, speed and conditioning.

I am not a great jumper. I only pull about 250 for deadlift, and 225 for squat @ 150 lbs. So I wanna hear more input as well.
