Title: 5v5 offensive strategy
Post by: BronxTOOTH on September 18, 2009, 10:34:22 PM
I'm playing in a 5v5 tournament tomorrow.  I've been racking my brain for days and talking with my team about offensive strategy.  I'm not sure if there is a particular defense we should be working on, but as for right now, our defense is fired up on basic man coverage.  So what I'm more worried about is our offense.  I was thinking of throwing a 2 handler set, with two players acting as wings, as they would in a zone, with the 5th man acting as a pop/deep threat.  Mapping that out in a notebook, Their defense could be crippled, blind, and deaf and still be able to defend against a set like that.  Does anyone have any ideas that would be useful for me?

I realise this is a tad late now...

A simple ISO (3 handlers, a mid and a deep) is what I enjoy and works really well, particularly if you have good handlers. the mid and the deep obviously need to work with eachother to make the best use of the masses of space they will be given (standing close to the edge of the court to give maximum throwing area, cutting deep and short to throw their markers off etc etc). The delight here is that its easy enough for the handlers just to run it up the court waiting for either the mid or deep to be free.
