1  General / Ulti Talk / Training for sprint speed/stamina on: January 05, 2015, 03:37:02 PM
What's a good training regimen to develop sprint stamina? I always run hard and get pretty gassed during games.

Given that it's winter and I just do casual jogging on a treadmill (my cardio is average, not great).

Should I do a mix of normal jogging with some kind of sprinting? Or just exclusively sprinting, and specifically how? Intervals? Any advice would be great.

2  General / Ulti Talk / Non-pivot foot out of bounds on: September 27, 2010, 05:51:24 PM
If I plant my pivot foot in bounds, can I step out of bounds with my non-pivot foot?
3  General / Ulti Talk / Re: Rules - can you jump out to save the disc out of bounds? on: July 29, 2010, 09:02:28 PM

Is it true that when my feet leave the ground, they must leave from in-bounds? Or can I already be completely out of bounds and still save it?

4  General / Ulti Talk / How to Dive Safely on: July 29, 2010, 08:47:20 PM
It seems that almost every time someone dives for the disc (in real life, not a YouTube video), they dislocate their shoulder. How do you dive safely? What's the proper form?

And is it affected by the kind of ground you play on, and what kind of shirt you wear?

We do play on grass, not any fake turf.

5  General / Ulti Strategy / How to Mark, 1-on-1 on: July 29, 2010, 08:42:30 PM
What's the right way to defend a guy, 1-on-1? Usually I take the fast ones that go long.

Right now, what I do is stick to him like glue, trying to stay within 1m to 1.5m from him, between him and the person with the disc and follow him closely wherever he goes.

Positionally I'm basically always between him and the thrower, except when he sprints and cuts and I have to follow behind him.

I've had trouble not seeing the disc. When people call "up", should you immediately look up to locate the disc first, or keep your eyes down and just follow your man?

Thanks for any help you can offer. Our team hasn't won a game yet, though we're getting progressively closer.
6  General / Ulti Talk / Rules - can you jump out to save the disc out of bounds? on: July 29, 2010, 08:30:11 PM
If the disc is still in the air, but out of bounds, can I jump out (feet leave the ground will still in-bounds) catch the disc and throw it back in, while in mid-air, but land outside after the throw?

Someone said this isn't legal.

What's the verdict?
