I thought too many northerners were still scarred from the shithouse weather we put on in 2006.

Fuck yes, i couldn't close my eyelids, frozen shut.

If UTS is a similar situation, perhaps you could provide some relevant (multi-campus) ideas that've worked and that could be applied at UniSA?

I don't think we've done the multi-campus thing in a while. We have the City and Kuring-gai (which is pretty close to the city anyways) campus but I think the last time anything was done in Kgai was before my time. It's hard to cater for everyone when the core players are all City based. If you don't have a player based in that campus already, all you can really do at the moment is put the word out via that campus' sports office.

But I've asked Ev, our propoganda minister, to try get Kgai kids into '09 frisbee because that campus is actually closer to league venues than the City campus and they also have all the sport degrees.

Distance? How many unis don't play frisbee? How many of them are nice and close to you or any uni that does play?

No idea on distance, my world revolves around UTS Cheesy
Um but there's institutions i've seen a few years back like UWS (aug 07), ACPE (eug '05), Southern Cross (eug '06), Bond (aug '05), Uni SA (aug '05).  And ACPE is the Australian College of Physical Education. That seems like an obvious choice to frisbee it up.

And there's probably other eligible unis and colleges in nsw and other states that I have no idea about.

But like you, Dan, I'm just putting ideas out there.

also, one more thing. judging from all the emails i get on the nsw-ulty mailing list, there's a real drive to do coaching sessions at local schools, which is awesome.
but why isn't there a push to get frisbee teams out of non-frisbee unis? accredited frisbee coaches wit the help of afda or the state assocs. can approach uni sport offices and say "hey there's a sport you can compete in at Challenges/AUGs and if you gather up a bunch of interested students, we'll coach them over a few weekends"  that'll help get the number of AUG teams above 24 and make sure that newbie/party teams at least know the rules.

hrm uts doesn't have fields, or a campus Cry
the closest we have is wentworth park and the fields are shoddy/crap/dustbowls. actually they're pretty similar to the usyd fields we recently had the uts-suufa-mac-newie scrimmages on. but once the '09 uts admin crew is sorted out, i'm sure they could be convinced to host something, somewhere.

also maybe mac can host one because they have fields, and unsw can host one because it'll help get them back on the unigames train.

Hopefully UTS has done enough this year with getting the new kids involved in the admin/exec side of things so that they can carry on next year where Rosie, Mel and myself have graduated, Tom's still in Melbourne for the 1st semester and Henry's being a lazy douche. The only 'old' kid still in the vicinity is Evan, and so far he's done a good job of getting a handful or randoms to commit to the upcoming league.

There was no ukulele at SUG 2006

Ukulele orchestra does Shaft

Ranga development in this sport is going off btw. Longest Day in Sydney this year will see the culmination of years of hard work with the Ranga All Stars Team. Open invite to all rangas (no strawberry blondes)...seriously come.

You should ask Kaija, UTS' "Great Red Hope"

Wtf? Did everyone miss the UTS heckle/cheer at the finals?
Henry put a lot of effort into that one Tongue

CONGRATS FLINDERS! It was the ukulele that won the tournament!

And on a slightly more personal note, it said we (UTS) finished 14th when we actually won our 13/14 playoff Sad
I think it's a conspiracy because one of the AUGs newsletters said that we lost another game that we won

Strange Henry, I don't remember seeing your face past 11pm at any of the socials...

Is there any team out there that can possibly match the falcons in drinking ability and dashing good looks?

And you don't remember seeing Henry's face past 11pm at the Paddy's two thursdays ago coz you left early.
He was there til the end along with the rest of uts + the token ranga/suufa/junior Max.

For the boat race, the 3rd team could be made up of people who wear a #69 shirt. There's one in every team.

Let's face it, the best augs showdowns occur at the socials. CSU vs USYD 2007, tight and bright night....brings a tear to my eye...

I believe it was CSU vs USYD vs UTS and UTS/CSU tied.
And if the past 2 USYD socials are anything to go by, USYD will pike early, at their own social  Tongue

Can I nominate Michael "Henry" Thomas? Or do I have to be from UTS?

nope. he made the unfortunate mistake of qualifying/playing mixed nats '07.
stupid stupid henry.

Mr Vice President,

So do we have to keep the same roster or can we add people? Like Tanty said, some people won't be able to get themselves out of commitments 2 weekends in a row.
And there's a rumor going around that we'd have to pay some fees again (which if it's true, is kinda ridiculous)
