Though i think aus.sport.frisbee is okk, it hink this is a btter forum for conveying frisbee. It is designed for frisbee talk, where yahoo is designed for everything. With ultitalk you can look up people who have signed, though you can do that with yahoo, you all ways get heaps of irrelevant junk.
My only problem with this site is the time, ITS IN AMERICAN, which confuses me every time i log on. Though i have become some what use to it, i would say that we should see the Australian time rather then the american one.

To change the time displayed on the forum to Australian time, go to Profile, then click Look and Layout Preferences (the link is on the left). Enter the time offset: for Australian Eastern Standard Time, it's 15. Otherwise, click auto detect and it should work it out for you.

Incidentally, I agree that this is a better way to talk about Frisbee info.

Personally I think the that having a forum integrated in AFDA is much better solution and also offers the best chance of exposure for a forum, and let's face it forums are 100 times more enjoyable with more active members.

That's my two cents.

Hey guys.  I'm glad you're liking UltiTalk as a alternative for NNTP newsgroups.  UT was created for many of the reasons Drag stated.  Newsgroups were great in the beginning, but now that the web has evolved forums like these are much more intuitive and user friendly.  Plus they allow for the addition of more functionality (like the Shout Box above) and the ability to embed movie clips, etc.  And, in UT's case, it's moderated (in a very relaxed way) to ensure we keep the Spammers and non-Ulti punks out.   Wink

Chris made mention of having it integrated w/ AFDA.  The reason we designed UT was to give the Worldwide Ultimate Community as a whole a place to discuss Ultimate.  But, we also wanted individual regions to have their own separate areas to discuss topics specific to their region.  As the site grows, we hope to add even more specific boards to regional areas (i.e. AUG and National League sub-boards for Australia).  Perhaps I should contact Pottsy (AFDA administrator) and see what his thoughts are about integrating UT within the AFDA website.  Altho, I know he's quite fond of Aus.Sport.Frisbee.  He was very influential in getting that newsgroup up and running, and getting Google to syndicate it within Google Groups.

P.S.  It's great to see so many Aussies on this site.  I think you guys are like a 2:1 ratio over the Seppos (like me) and Canucks combined.  Shocked Grin
