Sounds like things every ultimate player needs to work on to get better.

My winter league starts next week with a clinic for beginners so I will go scout the newbs before I draft my team the following day. Winter league is about 30 min drive for me and summer league is about an hr and 15 min, if not for club practice being on the same days I wouldn't play it. I'll be starting my workouts next week probably, I need 5-10 more min of daylight to make it work, so what if its 32 with 15mph winds.

HAHA, true enough.  Maybe I should have rephrased it as such,

"The only things I felt remotely comfortabel with were my top speed and throws.

BTW, in case it hasn't been posted here's Xi Xia's take on how crossfit fit's with ultimate, between him and Seppo, it got me inspirted to start on it, though there isn't much crossfit in the area yet.

With respect to the poaches; maybe your throws need some work. We have a guy on our team who is really fast and is a big threat for deep cuts, but he doesn't throw too well yet. So their defender usually poaches off deep, figuring if the guy gets the disc in, it doesn't matter much (at least compared to scoring).

If this is not the point, then talk to your handlers after the point where you made that cut. Just go off for 1 point for the sake of discussing the last point and which cut the handler is expecting of you. In my experience it just takes some time getting to know each other as cutter and handler. Handlers expect certain cuts from certain players and cutters expect certain throws from certain cutters.

So to conclude: play with them more and talk with them when you feel something didn't go as you intended it to go. Get to know how the handlers think about the game.
