I was recently watching the tapes from the 2007 and 2008 college ultimate championships and it was really hard (for me at least) to tell what kind of offense they were running. It looked like an organized freestyle or some sort of ho stack, but I really don't know much about picking up on that stuff.

But my question is: What kind of offense do a lot of the upper level teams run?

It was probably primarily Ho stack. I can think of very few college teams who ran anything else as their primary offense, even mid or lower level teams. I can't think of any club teams I have played in the last 2 years that didn't run Ho as their main set.

a lot is changing back thought to a form of vert stack.
at UPA Nationals a lot of the teams ran different offenses other than Ho.
A box stack or some different things were ran alot. Most of the variations are among the team and its putting a personal customized level to the different offenses.
Each team has its variations and will run according to whos on the field and such.

But I would still say the majority of college level teams run a Ho stack.

Really, It doesn't matter what "O" a nationals club or college team runs. What matters is that your team runs whatever offense you choose well.

Don't choose your offense on what others do. Choose your offense based on your strengths. Do you have a lot of tall guys who can rip the disc down? Do you have a lot of quick squirelly handlers? Make your offense to play to your teams strengths. Learn it. Run it. Drill. Repeat. It is better to run one or two offenses well, than being able to run them all not so well.

We don't have a lot of tall guys on my team, so we just focus on breaking the mark, swinging the disc, and creating space, but there are a lot of different things you can do.
