Just an update for those following South Africa. We have just recently come back from our National Tournament where there was a record amount of entrants. We had 16 teams from all over southern Africa, teams from Mozambique, Capetown, Durban, Johannesburg and East London to name just a few.
East London sent a team up to Nationals for the first time last year in 2010. We had a great time but we didn't even win one single game. With that in mind we came back this year to Nationals and brought another team with us. So from 16 players in one team in 2010 we grew and took 36 players in two teams in 2011. Our first team called, The Hammerheads, which had some of the same players from Nationals the previous year were back to take revenge on the rest of South Africa. We played 7 games and won 4 of our 7 games and ended 10th in the tournament a marked improvement from last year. We are very proud of the work that has been put in.
We walked away this year with the most spirited team of the tournament, the most improved team of the tournament, and we also won the most valuable female player of the tournament.
All in all it was a great tournament and we have plenty to look back on and to improve on. All of our improvements so far has been done without a coach and learning as we go. Thanks to Ultitalk and YouTube for the coaching
