Hey,
after one semester of playing I´ve got really hooked on UT!

Question is, what kind of shoes are suited best for it? Running shoes I guess not, since you need grip for cutting?

thanks,
Greg...

Hey Greg,

Yeah, running shoes definitely don't "cut" it.  What you want are cleats.

Now, what type of cleats you want depends on many factors.

There is slew of posts on here about the best cleats to get and why.  Check out the following search results for all the links to the posts:

I'm personally a fan of the blade type cleats.  My favorite cleat thus far in my career has been the Nike Mercurial Vapors.  Light weight, nice fitting and nice cleat pattern.  But they can be pricey, especially if you get the new Flywire variety.

Cheers!

The Nike Vapors are definitely the way to go.  I've only used soccer cleats in the past because I don't like the high ankle support often offered by football cleats, but the Vapors aren't high enough to bother me.  They're the sickest cleats out there.  Watch college and pro football and you'll notice how many players wear the Vapors.  They're the standard.  If you're indoor, I recommend the Nike5 Elastico Pro's.  I just bought some last week.  I've played in them twice and they're just excellent.  You can't go wrong with them!
