I notice that there are now advertising banners on Ultitalk!

This is actually quite exciting I think, in a way - possibly the first time I have seen advertising on an Ultimate website, other than for Gaia, VC and other ultimate related paraphenalia.

Just a question - where is the money going?

Hey Frank...

Yeah, we brought in some advertising in hopes of earning enough money to make UltiTalk a cost-free venture.  At the moment it's an out-of-pocket financed project.  The banners you see at the top are part of either a banner exchange initiative or an affiliate program.  The Google box at the bottom of the page is just you're run-of-the-mill Google AdWords program.

If any money does come in, it will be used to pay for UT expenses.  Anything extra will be used as follows:

50% donated towards Ultimate related events (more than likely to help further the sport with the kiddies).
50% towards a beer or three for the administrators and developers of UT.  Mmmm....beer. 

Hopefully the ads are not too much of an eye sore.  We definitely don't want to distract UT members from the forum topics.

As a side note, UltiTalk.Com is now #1 in Google when searching for "ultimate frisbee forum".  Wahoo!
