Is anyone scratching around for accommodation? I know of a sweet backpackers in the CBD, the greenhouse. Its all new, lift, swipe cards, great facilities, great location. If we can fill a room of 6, it would probably cost about $25 per night....

Yeah, I have no idea about my accommodation yet... I think Joan Tulett is booking something for me :S
I'll have to ask Cupcake.

I still need to book my flights but :\

I'm not in trouble for accommodation but I'm glad to see more juniors on UT.

While we have a thread for the training camp, who do you guys all think will make the team this year? And how do you think they'll go at Vancouver?

I mean, looking back on the Boston juniors, the line-up is just nuts, although admittedly I have no idea how good they all were back in '06, and how much they've improved since they went to Boston.

Kiddies (I can say that now  Wink),

If you are on the aus-youth email group, you should have just received an email, forwarded from Joan Tulett (one of the managers of the 2008 campaign) via Lisi via me.

If you are not on the aus-youth email group, GET ON IT. Send a blank email to <aus-youth-subscribe at yahoogroups dot com>.
ALL the important announcements for Australian Youth Ultimate will come over this list. If you're interested in youth/juniors, you need to be on it, no exceptions.

This email contains information about the camp. Money, dates, accommodation - all the most important things are in the attachment to that email. If you haven't received it, find someone who's got it (if you don't know anyone, PM me) and get the file off them.

BJ, I suggest checking the location of the fields in relation to the city, as well as transport options... I haven't looked myself, so I don't know whether it's good or bad. Remember that wherever you stay, you'll probably need to be at the fields, cleated up, sunscreened, full water bottles etc. by 9am every day.

Lex, get on that flights thing... They're important...

Tiges, as one of the Boston boys... Since training camp & youth nats, I'm stupidly excited about being involved with the best juniors squad thus far.

Fields are located at Hislop Park in Balwayn North (see map).

Unless someone is driving you to the fields from the CBD it'll probably take you ~45mins travel to get there by tram (plus a bit of a walk at the end). Trams are pretty frequent, running about every 10mins (on weekdays).

If you're interested, use the Journey Planner. Enter in your starting destination/station and the arrival destination is "balwyn road (x) albury road"

You raise a good question Tiger. From what I hear, the team will be stronger than the Boston teams were. Fingers crossed its true. I don't think I know enough of the junior boys to be able to make a prediction, but of who I do know, its looking pretty strong. And people can only have gotten better since Youth Nats

I just gotta say, I'm so excited. We now have... 21, at last count, girls signed up for the training camp and I know of a couple more thinking about it. The location is a big issue for most of the girls still thinking about it which sucks, but gradually the numbers are rising.

Trams are pretty frequent, running about every 10mins (on weekdays).

Yay Public transport. That'll come in mighty handy come january

Hey J Mac can you forward me the email about the Oz juniors training camps so I can organise my brother. I have already forwarded him an email to join the yahoo group, but for whatever reason you can read the pdf that was attached to the email with the info about the training camp.

before booking accom, check what the camp directors have organised in the way of billets or recommended accom. i recommend emailing Nicky <http://www.afda.com/showmember.php?memberid=2168> or Timill.

You don't want to be sitting a motel alone on the wrong side of the city while everyone else is billeted in some huge house next to the fields...

Hello guys.

When you register for the camp make sure you say "YES" to the question "Do you require a billet?" if you need somewhere to stay.

We will arrange somewhere for you to stay.

Haha yeah done Matt.

Well yeah, I will talk to Cupcake about the flights, book them and tell his mum.

I'm not sure who will make the team... I don't think I will
But I know there is some talent out there!

Yes, Tom.

I know that. It's in my "School planner"...
I need to get my parents onto it. I don't even know if they know that I'm going yet :S I've told them but my mother forgets things.
