Last two world clubs have been in Hawaii and Perth, so I'd be surprised if the next one was too far from Europe. Pray for Prague, fantastic city & they hosted a fantastic EUCC there in 2000.

Firestorm is aiming to send a team, but I don't know if we will have the numbers of players at a high enough level that can also afford to attend a tournament that will no doubt cost $5,000 - $7,000.

Does anyone know the rules in regards to merging teams? Like will there be teams like Deathstar or Thong forming again to attend?

To be eligible for WUCC, a team has to have played at a National championships for the previous two years (or maybe one of the two), train together, play together, etc. No idea how Thong managed to overcome that (maybe NUFL counted?) So I'd imagine plans for bastard hybrid teams would have to get underway next season.

I'm hunting for anything in regards to an announcement regarding the location because I assume something would have been said at the closing ceremony. No luck so far.

Woot! Prague it is! Sounds sweet.

I reckon you could do Prague for $4000 if you keep things on the cheap.

Even if they try to bring back Deathstar, it will not be going as Deathstar. But I'd say that the chances of those same players coming together are low. The Canberran boys are going to be focused on a mixed team I think and the last combo team 'Country' was not very good, despite its good players.

It'd be nicer to see actual club teams make it to clubs and not the mutants. I was really hoping firestorm would get there on their own two legs. You have two years to save, it can't be that hard Smiley

I think there'll be a lot better planning this time around for the Australian teams, considering we know where (or have a good idea at least) the big tournaments (Nats, Mixed Nats, AUG) are going to be for the next 2-3 years.

Few quick searches...
- Returns flights to Prague hover around the $3k mark (including taxes).
- Apartment for 4 people can be done for around $150 per night.
- Cheap-ish meal is around $7-$12.
- Pint of beer is around $2.

Don't forget the amazing pork schnitzels the size of a plate for $12 washed down with a liter of beer for $5!

Prague is a great choice!

Firestorm certainly has it on the calendar, and have discussed it as a group. "Planning is in the early stages" i.e. we haven't done anything about it just yet, but we will be mapping things out in coming months.

Any announcement on date??

As soon as dates are confirmed, I'd like to see AFDA figuring out the qualification process ASAP. Clubs are better prepared these days, and would love to see more notice given of the plans, and it also lends itself to better quality tournaments and better results in the end.
Of course, it does also mean more work for volunteers, especially in the short term, so I appreciate that side of things as well...
