Ho Stack easier for Offense. Spread easier to defend. My preference is spread because losing the disc after playing a stack makes it harder to switch to defense.

What's the positional difference between a ho-stack and spread? Aren't they nearly the same?

Many use ho stack and spread interchangeably. To me, a ho stack is a horizontal stack that is configured as a 3-4, 3-1-3 (H stack), or 4-3. A spread offense is generally something like an L stack, or a 3-4 that looks more like a "U".

Haha, yet another good argument for "Ultimate needs standardization!"

I'd say your L and T stacks are just positional variants of the standard vertical V stack. If the L had the two sets on either side of the field, that could be a spread but I'd call it a split stack.

Your 3-4 and 4-3 I agree are ho-stacks.

Your H stack I would probably call a german of some sort depending on how deep it is, except the German standard is 4-1-2 I think.

Actually I can't think of any designed structure that I call a spread. Hmmm.
