So, time to start the Mixed Nats 2008 thread. Brisbane, Saturday 18 to Monday 20 October. AFDA have just released the updated allocation/rostering/seeding/procedures policy at www.afda.com.

Looks like South Queensland could be getting 4 teams... if places like NT and North Western Australia don't represent.
What's the thoughts? Who are this year's hot favourites?

Hard to go past Bootius on home turf, especially with Worlds taking out a lot of strong players from interstate. Trouble is with Mixed Nats is that there's not many teams that are the same from year to year. I can only think of Bootius, Evolution, Scapegoats and Honey Badgers.

Could be some interesting teams from Brissy this year, is Halibut counting as a qualifying event?

Yeah Bootius, if it happens, will be a skeleton crew, considering that Al Don and J Mac are venturing off to play for chumpish southern teams, not to mention Matzuka/Pottsy/JD have moved on to greener pastures...
There has been discussion that UQ might try put some sort of team together, and I'm certain there will be one or two other reasonably strong Brisbane teams. Though I don't think we will have a team that is genuinely a title contender, which is a bit of a shame.

I'll back whatever comes out of Canberra. They're due. After looking at what teams are registering so far, I'm changing my mind. Vintage.
