1) What were the final standings? (so I can see how wrong my predictions were)

Something I would also like to know... so far I have worked out:

1. Vintage
2. Faf
3. Kaboom 1
4. Spider Pig
--
5. Smurf
6. Sugoi
7. Tribe of Miniature Horses
8. YOUUUU
--
9. Pie Wagon
10. Newcastle WD
11.
12. Flycatchers
--
13.
14. Kaboom 2
15.
16. Mind the Gap (due to forfeits)
--
17. RuBi
18. UQ
19. D-Rex or ?
20.
--
21.
22.
23.
24. Kaboom 3

Which leaves the placings of these teams unknown:
Black Sheep
Hand of God
Hills A(nti)-social
sCAPEgoats
Discasaurus Rex
LOG!
Wollongong
Lounge Lizards

I thought too many northerners were still scarred from the shithouse weather we put on in 2006.

Fuck yes, i couldn't close my eyelids, frozen shut.

Added some detail above.

I think black sheep played flycatchers in final game, but not 100% certain

Which would leave D-Rex vs Hand of God for the 19th/20th playoff

The weather may have been terrible, but that party was absolutely amazing! I have horrible memories from our scapegoat undie points in freezing wind and rain...

Mixed nats again in ballarat.... noooo.  I lost a couple of toes last time.  There was even sideways rain!  Rates up there with world clubs in hawaii 2002 with worst ever tournament weather.

I back that promise. Not like it can be worse.

Who would be in line for next region for mixed nats? Southern isn't it?

Yes. That's why I'm thinking of putting together a bid for either B-Town or Geelong.

The weather here is much better in late October than early September. It was high 20s all round on the weekend just gone.

The AFDA has a rotational policy for Nationals and Mixed Nationals that aims to share the events around Australia in a well-planned way. It is a six year cycle, and commenced in 2007.

If no acceptable EoIs are received from the alloted region, the event will be opened up to all regions and the alloted region will lose its turn in the cycle.

Year Nationals Mixed Nationals
2007 South       East
2008 East         North
2009 West        South
2010 South       East
2011 North        South
2012 East          West

The Regions referred to are:

North - NT, Qld and Northern NSW
East - NSW and ACT
South - Vic, SA & Tas
West - WA

I'm sorry but I just do not believe that statement.

2) If Mixed Nats 09 was in Ballarat, would anyone actually come?

I was going to say yes (with the added bonus of other people being soft making it more likely I can get onto a qualifying team =P)

But then I saw this quote

Fuck yes, i couldn't close my eyelids, frozen shut.

So Suj couldn't close his eyes because they had frozen shut... WOW that's some pretty unfortunate weather... Or perhaps next time you should only try to close your eyes from the OPEN position and not try and close them from the SHUT position... but maybe I'm being picky there

Hmm, what i meant was that they were frozen open. ha. um, yeah i couldn't close them. Although I could be thinking about the last game of the Saturday at the Stampede this year. Either way, they were both colllld.
