You guys should also enter Shenanigans - there will be experienced people there (that you will play with in the hat as well) that could be up for it, but yes you  need experience (and shenanigans needs teams).

and when it comes to nationals there isn't really 'stacked' teams - just good teams

The only thing that makes this a bad idea is the difficulty you're having finding those elusive women for the team.  Anyone who thinks otherwise is welcome to an arguement.

I assume you've tried asking around your league teams.  Make sure any girls you ask know experience/skill is no object.  There are a lot of players who aren't on any of these lists.

BTW, we are still looking for girls for Newcastle!

As I said before. If there are any people stuck without a team that I hear of, I'll send em in your direction. Grin (you and Mr. Linus Wink )

Personally, my tendency when I run into a real noobie player in a game situation, I tend to give them some basic hints like stacking and cutting vertically (stuff that is relatively easy to pass on and will help them play a bit better.... I normally leave the more complicated stuff to their team mates/coaches).

The only reason is because someone did the same for me when I was really new (and clogging the lane something horrific). Grin

I am another member of this wonderful team called cannon fodder and I would just like to say that I'm wrapped in the amount of support that our little team has received.  The plan that we decided on when we formed cannon fodder was that we would go to regionals to have a good time and to play some ultimate against high quality opponents.  Sure we would most likely lose, but I'm not worried by that. I know what it's like to lose every single game by a large margin. I played rugby at grammar for 6 years.

I really hope that we get enough girls to make this team competetive as it would mean a very fun weekend and a great experience for all of us inexperienced/intermediate players.

Hi All,

Well, we have managed to get a team together but are still recruiting, so thanks to everyone who has offered and sent people our way.

Please keep doing it cause we would love to have a few extra reserves...I guess its always the way. You get what you want, then you just want more :-)

Anyway, as said before, everyone is welcome, just shoot me a message.

1st (and only) training session is this Saturday.

Thanks
Adam

If anyone else is still interested we are having another training session this saturday at the same time (11-2), at the same place (Wentworth Park) and with (mostly) the same wonderful people. Come down if you're interested and we will welcome you with open arms.
