Personally, having tried for both #augulti and #amuc09, I found Twittering during the tournie pretty tough.

At both tournaments (and especially Mixed Nats, where MDAC was down to 5 guys by the last day and I was trying to shake a pretty fun bout of AUG tonsilitis), I had to focus more on the game at hand than half-time updates. Even after the games were over, all I really wanted to do was chill and not think about my phone. It was usually only at the very end of the day I'd hit up a Twitter update.

However, I think if more people took it up, the lack of updates wouldn't be such an issue. I'd certainly encourage more tournaments to do it or even facilitate a way for injured players to do it (cheapie mobiles + twitter?).

On a side note, Mixed Nats was probably the best run tournament I have ever seen. Ice cream during the final FTW.

I loved the #augulti one simmo and bozza kept us up to date with most scores and having bozzas number meant i could request certain updates Smiley

To be honest i don't twitter and don't have a phone that can, but i do think that it may be something that could become popular for the major tournies. (Nats, mixed nats, AUG)

I have it set up where I just send a text message and it updates. Pretty easy to get that going. I'll probably coordinate some efforts between fellow nerds for Nationals.
