Taken from an email from Piers:
"Given the short time frame until  u23 Worlds - the next steps will be appointing selectors, coaches and managers. There will likely be a deposit to be paid (to be included in selection) and selection stuff could start as early as unigames (demo games and stuff). "

Maybe the Green and Gold medals might actually have some purpose this year seeing as U23s are mostly Uni age students?

The selection pool is mid 40's the last I asked. My lists show 48 people eligable between 06, 08 juniors and a couple of ring ins like the eley boys (not that they'll make it).

I'll give you ring in....

While you may only be half-mastie, some of us wern't even playing ultimate for '06 WJUC thus throbbing at the prospect...

So it's under 23, yet the email from Piers said that you have to be 23 or younger in 2010. Does that mean people that are born in 1986 are eligible (they turn 24 in 2010) as long as they don't turn 24 before the tournament or only 1987 and after? Or even 1988 and after?

People born after 31st December, 1986? I don't know. They'd only be holding it every four years anyway, looks like most of us just have this one shot at it.

I would imagine it would be the same kind of thing as juniors, which would mean people born in 1987 and later. In 2004 I was 19 while worlds was on, but wasn't eligible because I was turning 20 in late December.

Well i'd be more interested than Brettski about a drunk highschool girl. But seriously can someone post a link to the afda page. My inability to find it is making me angry.

Looks like it's going to be a ridiculously hard team to make!  Shame they've shelved the idea for a mixed team at the moment, looks like there would be enough depth in the guys and girls to have 3 competitive teams over there

Damn!! Well there goes my chance. I love playing mixed, I get to play with girls Wink

Oh well. Back to the drawing board. How about world champs just for people born in march, who are over 6 foot and 90 kg. I'd make the under 23 team then.

I think next on the list is the sub-6ft worlds if Rueben has his way Tongue

If your idea comes to fruition though, let me know Tom.  I just need to add a few kilos and I'm set!

I've been told the UPA does not plan to sponsor or send any USA teams for this proposed U23 event.  Does anyone know the validity of this?
