I know that 10 countries are planning teams. USA is not one of them.
They don't seem to be interested in competitions they know they may not win.
And then they'll moan about adding an asterix to the winner's column because they weren't there.

I reckon the US will send a team and the tournament is announced. Build it and they will come sorta thing. They won't be able to stand the thought of other countries taking their medals.

I have a hard time believing that the US wouldn't medal at this proposed tournament.
Sure, maybe the spread of development in high school and college is uneven, but with the kinds of numbers they have playing, sure they could get a skeleton crew.
They'll never get gold though. Australia looks too damn good.

How about world champs just for people born in march, who are over 6 foot and 90 kg. I'd make the under 23 team then.
Goddmmit, I was born 1st of April! now I'll never make worlds

Depends on the country, but I wouldn't see a team taking less than 17 or more than 25

No way! In 2004 I was 10 days too old for Junior Worlds and NOW they decide to do this when I'm too old again!! Stupid WFDF. I feel your pain at least i am 2 years to old. But i only started playing at 20 so all these young pups who have been playing just aas long and have bodies that don't suffer as bad the next day.

The plan at the moment for u23 selection in Australia is to announce selectors for the u23 teams in the next few days. There will be a subset of the two selection committees at AUGs and they will be involved in selecting the Green and Gold team. There will also be a mixed exhibition game on Wednesday (North vs South) for u23 team hopefuls.
I expect that the first training camp for the u23 teams will be in January, but we will have to wait for the appointment of the head coaches for that information to be more than speculation. The application process for the head coaches will start in the next week or so.
All we need now is for WFDF to announce the tournament. :-)
